Nominations Sought for MSU Alumni Awards

STARKVILLE, Miss.–The Mississippi State University Alumni Association is accepting nominations for several prestigious annual awards.

The 2013 National Alumnus of the Year award honors the achievements of an outstanding graduate whose personal life, professional accomplishments and community service best exemplify the mission of the land-grant institution. To be eligible for the AOY award, a nominee must have been enrolled as a regular student at least 10 years ago.

Nominations for the 2012 Distinguished Service and Outstanding Young Alumnus awards also are being accepted. Both of these distinctions recognize chapter volunteers who have gone “above and beyond” in their community for service to MSU.

Any alumnus or chapter may make nominations, which should be submitted to Michael Richardson, coordinator of chapter programs, by Nov. 1. Nomination forms may be completed and past honorees viewed online at www.alumni.msstate.edu.

Persons selected will be recognized formally at a Feb. 1 campus banquet. For additional questions, contact Richardson at 662-325-3659 or mrichardson@alumni.msstate.edu.
