Northeast Gets Donations

DODGE’S DONATES TO SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT NEMCC– Dodge’s Chicken Store of Booneville annually gives in excess of $26,900 to the Northeast Mississippi Community College Development Foundation. In addition to its scholarships Dodge’s provides merchandise coupons and helps with sponsorship opportunities each year to support the Northeast Tigers. On hand recently to accept this year’s gift was (l-r) Northeast president Dr. Johnny L. Allen, Ed.D., Britt Cockrell, store leader, Roxi Smith, candy & grocery category leader, Virginia Robinson, QSR category leader and Northeast Development Foundation executive director Patrick Eaton. The Northeast Development Foundation, a non-profit corporation, offers a comprehensive program of giving opportunities and is specifically responsible for gifts to the college involving estate planning, real estate, insurance, endowments, annuities, trusts, pooled income funds or other special donations that require ongoing management or binding agreements. The Foundation exists to serve Northeast Mississippi Community College by providing programs and benefits not fully provided by other sources.

BHS CLASS OF ’58 AND FRIENDS PUBLISH COOKBOOK–  Members of the Booneville High School (BHS) class of 1958, other BHS and Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) alumni, along with family members and friends from across the country have compiled their tastiest tried-and-true recipes into a single book for generations to come. This cookbook contains approximately 400 mouth-watering recipes, and thanks to the contributor’s index, it’s easy to find the recipes of friends and family.  All proceeds will benefit the Don Lee Keith “Excellence in Writing” Memorial Scholarship at NEMCC.  The cookbook is dedicated to the memory of Lanois Davidson, the high school English, speech, and journalism teacher of this class. She was a member of the first graduating class of Northeast and a mentor to Keith, who was a member of the BHS class of 1958. Cookbooks are $18 each and are available now at Agnew’s Restaurant in Pratt, U Save Discount and Walden’s Appliances in Booneville, Ginger’s Salon and House of Flowers in Ripley, and The Pork Shoppe in Ramer, TN.   A gift of $5300 was presented to the Northeast Development Foundation by members of the 1958 class.
