Noted Developer Frank Leigh Dies

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The man who helped put Highway 45 on the map as a major retail center in Columbus has died.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Frank M. Leigh died peacefully at his home, historic Leighcrest, at about 4:15 Saturday morning. He was 98.

Leigh had bill ill for some time.

He developed Leigh Mall and much of the area around it.

Gunter and Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
