MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – Noxubee County taxpayers are on the hook for more than $50,000 in medical expenses, after a fight between inmates at the county jail.
Investigators think Fredrick Lane gave Jermaine Walker a vicious beating, last October.
Walker suffered serious head injuries and a broken jaw.
He was treated at 3 different hospitals, and the bills added up.
Walker has been in custody since last February following a shooting at Hilltop Cafe in Macon.
Noxubee County’s insurance carrier recently told the Board of Supervisors that they would refuse all claims related to the injuries and treatment of a county jail inmate.
