Noxubee Wildlife Refuge Hosts Learning Festival

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The Noxubee Wildlife Refuge encouraged surrounding communities to join in on a learning festival.

The Wild Life Festival was part of National Public Lands Day.

The event offered canoeing, art theme activities and other learning booths.

Live music and free food were on hand for families to enjoy.

They even had a chance to learn about wild life the refuge encounters on a daily basis.

Refuge manager says it’s a way for families to take a break from fast pace lives for some relaxation.

“We’re getting less connected with nature we’re getting more connected with electronics and we like watching nature but this is your chance to get out and really feel it, touch it, smell it and experience it,” says Steve Reagan.

The event was held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
