OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI)-The Mississippi Highway Patrol has filed formal paperwork and citations in Chickasaw County Justice Court to bring four charges against Okolona Assistant Police Chief Romona Robertson.

Arresting officers allegedly clocked Robertson going 77 in a 55 miles-an-hour zone and say they watched her cross the center lines several times.

Officers say they searched her and found 18 hydrocodone pills in her driver’s door pocket.

Chickasaw County Judges have rescued themselves from hearing the investigation due to the political nature of the case.

If no judge wishes to hear case Circuit Court Judge Andrew Howorth will appoint a Special Justice Court Judge to hear case.

If Robertson enters a guilty plea or is convicted of all four counts, she could face fines of $1,090 and court costs of  $809.50.
