Starkville, Miss. (WCBI) – Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Starkville woman’s claims of kidnapping Monday evening.

The alleged victim tells WCBI-TV that she was pulled over by a man she believed to be a law enforcement officer. The woman says she was traveling on Highway 82 in Oktibbeha County when a vehicle pulled in close behind hers, flashing blue lights.

The woman says the uniformed man asked for her driver’s license before asking her to step out of the vehicle. The man forced her into the trunk of her own vehicle. She  says the man drove her car, with a second man following behind in another vehicle.

The complainant  says she escaped when the men abandoned her vehicle on the side of a road in Kemper County. Kemper County Chief Investigator Robert Joyner tells WCBI-TV that his deputies met with the woman and then towed her vehicle as evidence.

The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department is the lead agency in the investigation.
