Oktibbeha County Okays Comprehensive Plan

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Oktibbeha County supervisors have given an Oxford company the go-ahead to prepare a comprehensive plan surrounding the goals and objectives of the county.

Mike Slaughter, company president of Slaughter & Slaughter Associates appeared before the board Monday (2/4) morning.

Slaughter says the plan, which is not a zoning ordinance, is like a road map for the future, leading to a desired destination.

“Rails or air or whatever may be important and it could be a public transportation. Anything that deals with that and then community facilities. Whether its water, sewer, drainage, parks and rec buildings or public buildings such as jail houses, court houses,” said Slaughter.

The comprehensive plan is expected to be completed within the next six to nine months and will be presented to the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors for approval.
