Old Milam Building to be Demolished

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A unanimous decision in Tupelo.

The city council awarded a demolition contract on the old Milam Manufacturing building.

Once the site is clear, the plan is to build a new police headquarters.

The Mayor, Jason Shelton, city council, and city leaders will begin discussing details for the new building soon.

The city has set aside $5 million for a new facility.

Federal Law Enforcement donated the old Milam property to the city after the facility was used in a cigarette scheme.
