Ole Miss To Hold Pep Rally Thursday Prior to Texas Game

OXFORD, Miss.– Members of the Ole Miss football team will join the marching band and spirit groups for a pep rally Thursday, prior to the big game against No. 12 Texas Saturday.

The pep rally, presented by the Ole Miss Athletics Department and the Downtown Council, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn on the square.

“The Oxford Downtown Council is excited to be a part of the Texas Pep Rally,” said Mark Huelse, president of the Oxford Downtown Council and co-owner of Something Southern.   “It is events like this that put a spotlight on the Square and the University.  We are fortunate to partner with Ole Miss and look forward to a wonderful weekend in Oxford.”

Members of the football team will address the crowd and the Pride of the South, Cheerleaders, and Rebelettes will perform.

Ole Miss women’s soccer head coach Matt Mott and captains Alix Hildal, Erin Emerson and Mandy McCalla will also speak at the pep rally.  The Rebels are off to a 7-0 start and will kick off SEC play this weekend hosting Arkansas and Texas A&M.
