Oxford’s Transit System Takes Off

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Oxford’s transit system is taking off. Last month, the bus service saw nearly 55,000 passengers. 93-percent of the riders are students and staff of the university. A new experimental lunch-time route, which runs between the Lyceum and the square is being tested for the fall semester. Officials hope to give students and staff the option of going to lunch or meetings without having to park. Officials say the transit partnership has proven to be successful than even it’s early champions anticipated.
