Parker Dunaway WCBI Student Athlete of the Week

Parker Dunaway has had plenty of success on the court and the diamond, but it was his success in the classroom that got him accepted in to the University of Alabama. His Head Coach in baseball was not surprised.

“He’s going to be a kid that is really going to succeed when he leaves Heritage Academy” said Bruce Branch.

“It is not really as hard as it seems because our teachers and coaches work well together to help us manage our time well and to keep our grades up and what not, so we are able to compete in athletics” said Dunaway.

Parker will finish out the baseball season with the Patriots and then end his athletic career.

“No plans to play anything in college. I am going to be a regular college guy.”

Finally, what was his advice to underclassmen coming up through the ranks?

“Just keep working hard and do everything the coaches tell you” he uttered.

Good advice.
