Pay Raise Part of Calhoun County Budget

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A tax increase and three percent pay raise is coming to Calhoun County.

Calhoun County supervisors approved their 2015 budget.

It includes a 1.2 mil tax increase. Supervisors say it’s needed to offset rising operation costs.

Insurance costs did not go up as they had previously been budgeted for, so supervisors instead approved an employee raise.

The raise does not apply to supervisors or department heads. It equals about $800 a year for each county employee.
