COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A suspect in the deadly shooting at the Columbus Fairgrounds has turned himself in.

Interim Chief Tony Carleton tells WCBI Columbus resident Kale Scott turned himself in to police around 6 p.m. Sunday for questioning about his involvement in the shooting.

Investigators say Scott pulled out a gun and started shooting after an argument at a graduation party Friday morning.

21 year-old Devin Lamar Montgomery died after witnesses say he was shot in the back.

Carleton says Scott will be held in the Lowndes County jail until he makes his first court appearance, Tuesday.
