PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – A Pontotoc church needs more food and volunteers as they work toward its goal of feeding thousands of people.

Pontotoc First Baptist Church is hosting its annual “Feeding of the 5,000″ Thursday (11/15).

From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., volunteers will prepare and serve, thousands of hot meals to people in need.

The group already has hundreds of baked casseroles and desserts, but they still need more food.

The church fellowship hall will open at 6:00 a.m. for anyone who wants to drop off a casserole or dessert.

Organizers also need volunteers to help with the clean-up after the meals are served.

Anyone interested is encouraged to come to the church around 4pm.

The Feeding of the 5,000″ has been held for 18 years.
