Pontotoc Girls Fall in 4A State Final

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Terrica Williams scored 18 points, Christa Reed added 17 and Bay High capped an undefeated season by beating Pontotoc 65-42 to claim the girls Mississippi 4A state championship on Friday night.

Bretta Hart also scored 15 points for the Lady Tigers (36-0), who captured their third state championship and first since 2005. Williams shot 8 of 13 from the field and added 11 rebounds. Bay High shot 24 of 50 (48 percent) from the field.

Pontotoc shot just 29 percent from the floor in the second half and 32 percent for the game.

Lanikki McMillian and Anna Rosenbaum led the Lady Warriors (31-4) with nine points each. Pontotoc captured the 4A state title last year.
