PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – The Pontotoc community held a ceremony this morning in the town square to honor veterans with Christmas wreaths. Every Christmas wreaths are placed at the memorial site in Pontotoc. The wreaths are provided by the “Wreaths Across America” project. Coordinator Donna Bagwell says it’s a way to teach young people about the freedom they have as Americans.

“it’s a way that we can remember our veterans, honor our veterans and also teach our young people about how our freedoms were won and how that we have to continually fight and remain a free country and have freedoms we enjoy,” says Bagwell

There were over 400 Christmas wreaths placed this weekend to honor the veterans.
