GOLDEN TRIANGLE AREA (WCBI) — The line of thunderstorms that passed through the area knocked power out to thousands of area residents.

Columbus Light and Water crews are busy restoring electrical lines that were cut due to falling limbs and high winds. As of Tuesday morning affected areas through the city were at 18th Avenue North and Bluecutt Road. Most if not all power is expected to be restored early afternoon.

4-County customers also received some outages. Crews are busy fixing the problems. Only a few hundred customers were affected due to storms throughout Lowndes, Clay, Oktibbeha and Choctaw counties.
