COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Air Force Base take a moment to remember prisoners of war and those still missing in action. Today is national P-O-W M-I-A recognition day. A ceremony was held this afternoon in front of the Smith Plaza on the base. Base officials, including Commander Colonel Jim Sears, and community leaders hosted four families who have dealt with missing soldiers. Visitors were treated to a flyover in a missing man formation and taps were played. Today’s ceremony included a missing man formation flyover and the playing of Taps.
