Video: PRAM Presents Awards to Practitioners; Installs New Officers

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) -– The Golden Triangle Chapter of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) named public relations practitioners for the year and installed new board members at its first meeting of the year at Lion Hills Center today [Jan. 28].

Barbara Bigelow, executive director of Main Street Columbus, was named External Practitioner of the Year and Brennan Dockery, promotions manager at WCBI TV, LLC, was named Internal Practitioner of the Year.

Bigelow is active in many community organizations, including the LINK and the Exchange Club. She also is very involved with the Columbus Air Force Base and serves on the board of the Lowndes County Community Foundation.

Dockery serves on the Base Community Council, Military Affairs Committee and the United Way Allocations Committee. She is also a past president of PRAM-Golden Triangle.

New board members also were sworn in by Meagan Shurden, APR, who also spoke about the Southern Public Relations Federation. Shurden is vice president of membership with the SPRF and serves as assistant director of recruiting and events at Mississippi State University.

PRAM’s membership consists of approximately 600 public relations professionals from advertising and public relations agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, government, education, industries and others. PRAM is a source of expertise and inspiration, and a forum for networking with public relations practitioners throughout the state and the region.
