Prentiss County Man Arrested Following Lengthy Pursuit

GUNTOWN, Miss. (Press Release) — A Prentiss County man was arrested in Saltillo after fleeing a traffic stop.

The Guntown Police Department says Kerry Shane Lauderdale, 41, was arrested Friday for failing to stop a motor vehicle when officers signals.

Guntown Police say they attempted to stop Lauderdale for improper equipment when the pursuit began and went through several jurisdictions and lasted for over 60 miles.

Guntown Police say that stop sticks were deployed in an effort to stop Lauderdale and were successful.

The pursuit finally came to an end inside Saltillo City Limits on Highway 363 where Lauderdale was taken into custody without incident.

Guntown Police say Baldwyn Police, Lee County Deputies, Itawamba County Deputies, Mantachie Police, and Mississippi Highway Patrol all assisted in trying to stop Lauderdale.

Lauderdale has been charged with multiple misdemeanor traffic violations, driving while license suspended, and failure to stop when an officer signals (felony).

His bond was set at $50,000 by Justice Court Judge Chuck Hopkins.
