EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI ) – Students at two more area schools are one step closer to healthy living. Students and teachers at Eupora Elementary and West Oktibbeha County Elementary school officially kicked off the Project Fit America Program earlier today. The equipment and curriculum is funded through a grant from the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation. The idea is to keep students active everyday. Mississippi consistently tops the chart with childhood obesity. That’s why project fit focuses on improving health and fitness. In the last six years, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi has donated more than $4.5 million in equipment to elementary and middle schools around the state.
