Video: Proposed Liquor Ordinance Passes

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI)-New Albany will officially be ‘wet’ as of June 6th. The Board of Alderman unanimously passed the proposed parameters to the new ordinance last night. No comments were raised so the board cast it’s vote. According to the newly adopted ordinance the sale of alcohol will be allowed by the bottle in package stores, as well as by the drink in restaurants, hotels, and other similar establishments. Possession of wine and spirits will be forbidden on most public property including schools, libraries, museums, playgrounds, and parks. The sale of alcohol will also not be permitted within 400 feet of a church or funeral home or within 100 feet in a commercially-zoned area.
