Friday will boast mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs again in the low-mid 90s and a heat index around 103. A few afternoon and early evening showers cannot be ruled out, but the cold front that comes through overnight will be the best chance for rain.
Kickoff for Friday night football should be fine, but a few places may see some rain by the end of the game, especially the farther northwest that you live (ie, towards Oxford). I still think that is a low chance at this point, as most computer models bring rain into out northwest counties around midnight.
Heavy rain with gusty winds will sweep through from the northwest to southeast overnight. The chance for rain in the Golden Triangle should be done by 1 o’clock at the latest, so despite tailgating possibly being wet, you might not have to stand in the rain for the game! The Ole Miss game will have no rain problems, but you may need a light jacket for the end of the game.
Some sun will mix in tomorrow afternoon, but it will be a bit breezy.
Highs will top out in the 80s this weekend with drier air. Lows will drop down to the mid-upper 50s Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights.
