Video: Red Cross Volunteers Honored

COLUMBUS/TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — They do everything from respond to natural disasters hundreds of miles away to be there when someone in the community has their life disrupted by fire or some other emergency.

Today, the Red Cross chapters in Lowndes and Lee and the 15 counties they serve honored the many volunteers who make the organization a success. The Red Cross has on average 15 volunteers for every one employee.

“It is National Volunteer Week and we are showing our volunteers that we appreciate their dedication to this chapter and to the community,” said Parnethea Evans, the m,anager of the Columbus office.

National Volunteer Week ends Saturday.
