Redden Gets Suspended Sentence

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man is given a five-year suspended sentence for aggravated domestic assault.

Alan Redden, 50, faced up to 20 years in prison for the September 2011 assault on his estranged wife. He pleaded guilty to the charge in December and was sentenced today in Lowndes County Circuit Court.

Redden’s record as a Columbus businessman played a role in him getting the suspended sentence.

   This is really sad, he has had many run ins with the law and always seems to get by. Go figure! He’s a businessman!

   Really.. that’s it.. I think it’s really sad!! I don’t think being a “columbus businessman” should have anything to do with what happened. If you BEAT someone.. you can now say.. oh, it’s okay.. he’s a businessman.. REALLY????

   I can’t believe he got a lighter sentence because he was a Columbus businessman! What makes him so special?!

   This is an outrage, Columbus is famous for letting wife beater free…so sad.
