Stansbury’s name has continued to surface since the end of the college basketball season to jobs at Auburn and at Southern Miss, but he reportedly was not interested in either head coaching position.

Stansbury has maintained a prominent role in property in Oktibbeha County over the past two years and has continued to oversee his options returning to basketball coaching.

He was head coach at Mississippi State from 1998-2012, leading the Bulldogs to a 293-166 record over that time. During those years, Mississippi State won more games than any SEC program not named Kentucky or Florida.

Before becoming head coach of the Bulldogs, Stansbury was an assistant from 1990-1998 including Mississippi State’s 1996 Final Four team.
