COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It was an eventful Saturday morning at the Salvation Army in Columbus as youth volunteers gathered for fun and games.

Youth volunteers ranging from eighth graders to seniors in high school helped organize the “Love Fest Crusade” as part of the Discipleship Now program. It was a time for fellowship and gospel for members of the community.
“This event is important because we want to show our love and support for the community. I’m very excited, I can see solve potential in this growing and becoming something spectacular for this community,” said Major Eric Roberts, Core Officer for the Salvation Army.

Border Springs, New Salem, Kolola Springs and Woodlawn Baptist churches worked together on the event.
There were all sorts of games for the youth including a puppet show, face painting, cotton candy and popcorn. A similar event was held last fall.
