Video: Samaritan’s Purse Helping in Shuqualak

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Volunteers from across the globe rolling up their sleeves and helping out Shuqualak. Last week’s tornado snapped trees and power lines, destroyed several homes and damaged many others. The International Christian Relief Organization Samaritan’s Purse focusing its efforts on the small Noxubee County town. Disaster relief teams are cutting up fallen trees, salvaging personal items and much more. Samaritans purse volunteers are paying extra attention to the poor, the elderly and the uninsured.

A volunteer command center has been set up at Shuqualak Baptist Church on 201 Line Road. You can also call 501-813-7703 if you need help. Brent Gray Beal, a program manager from North American Ministries says, ” We’re helping the homeowners that have been effected by the storms. We’ve been able to go out and help with tree removal, debris removal from their homes and also with temporary tarps. ” Samaritan’s Purse volunteers have responded to 24 natural disaster sites already this year.
