School Consolidation Hearing

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The public can weigh in on the consolidation process for the Starkville and Oktibbeha County School Districts.

The consolidation commission will hold a public hearing on August 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Greensboro Center.

The seven-member commission wants to hear comments from the public on the best possible method for merging the two school districts.

 State lawmakers this year passed a bill to consolidate the Starkville and Oktibbeha County districts. The merger will not take effect until 2015.
