Security Increasing For Football Game

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Monroe County school and law enforcement officers are taking extra steps to make sure there are no problems at Friday night’s Hamilton-Smithville football game.

That comes after a threat was made Thursday, using the anonymous chat application Yik Yak.

Extra officers and metal detectors will be on hand to avoid any problems. The biggest problem might be for the person making the threat.

Investigators have already narrowed down their focus, and as soon as they can get a subpoena, Yik Yak will provide records on where the threat came from.
