A line of intense storms is expected to cross our area during the overnight hours. It will affect areas NW of the Natchez Trace between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. Areas southeast of the Parkway will be affected between midnight and 4 a.m. The greatest threat continues to be wind gusts over 60 mph; however, an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out. Some hail is also possible. The storms will be well to our east by daybreak.
Sunny to mostly sunny skies will return on Thursday and they will stick around through the weekend and into next week. Temperatures will be a bit cool through Saturday but a nice little warm up is expected to develop by Sunday and Monday. Conditions look great for high school football this week as well as the big MSU homecoming game in Starkville Saturday evening.

It looks like wind gusts over 60 mph will be the greatest threat by the time the storms get to Starkville. We’re looking at around midnight or 1 am for their arrival in the Golden Triangle.
