Video: Severstal Plant Earns National Recognition

DEARBORN, Mich. – Severstal North America, a leading steel producer in the United
States and a subsidiary of Severstal, a global steel and mining company, was pleased to receive the
Award for Steel Excellence from the American Metal Market in New York City. Madhu Ranade, Vice
President and General Manager, Severstal Columbus, accepted the award on behalf of the company
and acknowledged the entire Severstal team and all of its employees who made it possible.
The award, which recognizes the accomplishments, innovation and excellence in the metal industry,
was given to Severstal Columbus in Best Operational Improvement category. Its innovative scrap
purchase and use optimization project resulted in significant savings for the company.
Earlier this year Severstal Columbus achieved an important milestone in its performance delivering a
record-breaking $102.50 EBITDA per net ton ($113 per metric ton) as a result of operational and
business improvements.
