South Carolina Man Arrested in Columbus on Drug-Related Charge

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A traffic stop last week in Columbus yielded one arrest.

Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers were dispatched to 7th Ave. N. regarding possible narcotic activity.

According to a press release provided by the CPD, the response led to a traffic stop directed at a vehicle for “suspicious circumstances” at the 1300 block of Main Street.

Upon further investigation, officers found 28-year-old South Carolina man Johnny Riley to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Riley was arrested and charged accordingly. He is currently detained at the Lowndes County Detention Center.
