STARKVILLE, Miss. (Press Release) — Starkville police have made two additional arrests in a Sunday aggravated assault.

The Starkville Police Department has continued its investigation into the shots fired call at 200 Hartness Street in Starkville, which initially resulted in the Dec. 29 arrest of 21-year-old Derrick Devante Young on two counts of aggravated assault and attempted arson.

One victim received treatment at OCH Regional Medical Center, a second victim was still receiving treatment as of Monday.

Further investigation into the incident led to the arrest of 28-year-old Anthony Nicastro and 24-year-old Shanika Clayton. Nicastro was arrested Dec. 29 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and attempted arson. Clayton was arrested Dec. 29 on the same charges. Both were processed and Nicastro was transported to the Oktibbeha County Jail. Clayton was transported to the Lowndes County Detention Center.

Both individuals made their initial Justice Court appearance today.

Derrick Devante Young’s bond was set at $600,000; Nicastro’s bond was set at $600,000; Clayton’s bond was set at $300,000.
