House Speaker Phillip Gunn, a Clinton Republican, was was greeted by full houses today in Tupelo and Columbus as part of his statewide “Ideas Tour” to gather taxpayers’ thoughts on education, health care, jobs incentives and ways to cut costs and improve services.

“We hope to gather two or three ideas maybe that we can put into law, we’re hoping to get some ideas we can take and introduce as legislation and actually pass laws that will improve the lives of the state and these would be ideas that came from our citizens,” Gunn said of his nine-city tour which continues Wednesday in south Mississippi.

He also spoke Tuesday to the Lowndes County Republican Women.
