STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A Starkville business is showing off its renovations to kick off football season at Mississippi State University.

The Campus Book Mart store on Lee Boulevard held a grand reopening event, Friday, after it was damaged by a fire in April.

The store itself was only closed for about 10 days, but workers say ever since then, they’ve been renovating, and cleaning up.

“We stripped everything out of the store, and painted it all, and built back everything new, so the store looks like it did back when we built it, only better,” said owner Joe Brown. “We’ve got a lot more stuff in there now. ”

Brown says the store is now “better than new.”

The electrical fire caused smoke damage to the school supplies, and MSU merchandise.
