Video: Starkville Church Celebrates Pets with Service

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville residents are coming together to celebrate the gift of their pets.

As part of the ongoing “Stewardship of Creation” series, the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection celebrated the gift of animals and pets, Sunday.

In the annual Blessing of the Animals service, members of the church and community gathered their pets to receive individual blessings.

“I think these pets are such a joy to us and so fourth,” said Rev. Lee Winter. “And so we want to be grateful for them and we want to acknowledge that they are a gift in our lives and we want to be a gift to them.”

As part of the event, participants also brought donations for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society.
