STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum hosted its annual open house, showcasing new and renovated exhibits.

Starkville residents had a chance to tour the Heritage Museum and see some new, historical sites.

The Oktibbeha County Jones Shoe Shop is now featured in the museum, along with the newly renovated pieces of the Evans Shoe Shop.

Also, the Barn Quilt Trail was launched, which is a rural scavenger hunt throughout Starkville for colorfully painted plywood squares.

Organizers say the open house is a good chance to showcase the museum and the quilt trail.

” It shows our appreciation to the community for their support and it’s also a way of getting them into the museum to see what their support has done,” said Ava Moore, “Friends Of The Museum” Chairperson.

The Heritage Museum is open for tours Tuesday-Thursday, 1 pm- 4 pm.
