Starkville Police Make Burglary Arrests

Starkville, Mississippi (WCBI) – Starkville police make two burglary arrests.

Bond is set at $20,000 Douglas Erwin, 21, of Starkville.

Investigators say Erwin was walking in the Carver Drive area when he was stopped by officers on Monday. A short time later, reports of vehicle burglaries in the area were called in to police.

There were increased patrols in the area because of an increase in burglaries.

Erwin is charged with one count of auto burglary. He is on probation for similar charges.

In an unrelated case, Shaston Irons, 25, of Derma is charged with burglary of a dwelling.

SPD was called to a burglary in progress Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were given a description of the burglar and combed the area to find him.

Investigators say Irons was identified as the person seen in the Carver Drive home.

As of this Wednesday afternoon, bond had not been set for Irons.
