After a Thursday afternoon with a feels like temperature around 110, we will only cool down to the middle 70s overnight. There is a slight chance of a few storms passing by overnight into early Friday morning. The most likely location will be in northern MS, and one could bring high winds and hail.
Friday: Our best rain chances in a while will return. The exact coverage and intensity of storms in the afternoon will depend on how worked over our atmosphere is from Friday morning rain/storms, should they develop at all. With plenty of daytime heating (heat index again over 100 degrees) and our winds shifting to more or a west-northwest direction, storms that pop up may bring gusty winds and hail. We are currently under a slight risk of severe storms. However, the rain chance is still less than 50%.
Weekend: A few showers will try to linger Saturday morning; otherwise, your day is looking rain free. A spotty shower is again possible on Sunday, but most all of you will not have to worry about that. Low temperatures Saturday and Sunday nights will make a run at the mid 60s.
