STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville Schools held the first of a series of meetings Thursday night (1-24-13) to discuss long-term strategic planning for the district.

Superintendent Holloway facilitated the meeting that focused on what the top 3 priorities would be for Starkville Schools. The discussions also covered what people valued most in the district. Oktibbeha County Supervisor Orlando Trainer says these meetings will help the entire district move to the next level.

“They’re looking at the finances. They’re looking at student performances. They’re looking at facilities and they’re also looking at other assessment items that can help the stakeholders make informed decisions and also have informed input so they can draft a game plan with a mission and a vision statement and continue to move this school district forward,” says Trainer.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 21st at the Hilton Garden Inn.
