STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Second graders at Sudduth Elementary School in Starkville  hosted a Market Day to sell their handmade products.

Students spent the last few months learning about how to create and sell marketable products, in this case Christmas-themed gifts from door decorations, ornaments and home-made toys, to other students.

Friday’s market even included a professional photo booth where parents and students could take a Christmas photo.

While having fun making and selling their products, the young students weren’t even aware they were learning everything from math to English to social skills and teamwork.

Here’s what some students had to say about their products.

“It’s called one dollar two for three dollars and my mama helped me make it and you can fly it. It’s like a toy you can play with,” says Jaheim Deans.

“I got these wooden ornaments and I painted them and I’m selling them for one dollar,” says Kaela Carino.

Other grades in the school were able to purchase items from the market place.
