SULLIGENT, AL. ( WCBI) — Students in Sulligent are broadening their horizons through learning a new language.

It’s all part of new program that allows high school students taking Spanish to teach elementary students the language.

These Sulligent students are having fun, while learning about Spanish culture.

They sound like it’s their second language but these elementary students are just learning the basics.

“It’s really fun because I get to learn all this different stuff, ” says Keaton Lamoureos.

Their teachers are students themselves, taking Spanish three in high school and they say the experience has instilled them with an even deeper love for the language.

” My favorite part is their enthusiasm, they are so excited to learn the language and it makes me really happy, ” saysKaitlynn Markham.

The younger students say it’s very different from their grammar class.

” It’s never really easy or really hard. It’s just a learning experience, ” says Makayla Gann.

” It can be hard at some points but I get to spend time with my friends and I get to learn new things, ” Haiden Lacy.

Things that will carry over with these students for years to come.
