OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Oktibbeha County Lake will remain closed after supervisors decided not to act Monday night. A proposal for the board to take control and contract with the Golden Triangle Regional Planning and Development District to operate the lake failed three to two. If passed, the board would have provide $100,000 in funding without a tax increase to county residents. The majority of the board said they wanted to see if other offers came forth. The lake was closed in April after the Mississippi Department of Fisheries, Wildlife and Parks did not renew its lease to run the campground.
