ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – About 100 people turned out to support Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle at Tuesday night’s board of aldermen meeting.

However, the group says they weren’t allowed to talk with city leaders about the controversy surrounding the police department and the officers that were fired.

That’s when supporters, one with a bullhorn, went into the hallway of city hall to complain about what they call a lack of transparency in city government and problems with utilities.

Randle says he wants to keep everyone safe.

“Our future plans is to make sure we handle this in a professional and lawful manner. My message is still the same, in that we do not want any violence. We don’t want anything to happen to anyone due to the fact that tempers are up right now but the most important thing is to secure everybody’s safety,” said Randle.

The board took no action concerning Randle.
