Teens Arrested on Robbery, Assault Charges

CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Two Calhoun City brothers are behind bars, Wednesday, on armed robbery and assault charges.

Calhoun County deputies arrested 17-year-old Jaquavis Armstrong, and 19-year-old James Avant, Monday, after they say the teens attacked Leandro Ramos in early February.

Deputies say Armstrong and Avant took Ramos out of a truck at gunpoint, hit him with a pistol a few times on the head, and beat him up.

Investigators say the teens also took $200 from him.

They’re being held in the Calhoun County jail.
