Thaxton Man Jailed After High Speed Chase

(ECRU, Ms) A late night pursuit that began in Ecru has led to the arrest of a Pontotoc man and left 4 patrol cars damaged.

At approximately 10:40pm, Ecru Police Department, attempted to stop Robert Sisco, 31 of Thaxton, for traffic violations. Sisco failed to stop and chose to flee from law enforcement.

After fleeing through Union County, Sisco was finally stopped and arrested on MS 6, near MS 336. His vehicle was finally disabled, at approximately 11:20pm, after he crossed the median and began traveling west bound in the east bound lanes of MS 6.

During the course of the pursuit, Sisco apparently collided into four different patrol cars. Two State Trooper units, a Pontotoc Police Unit, an Ecru Police Unit all received minor damage.

An officer with Pontotoc Police Department was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center with minor injuries from the collision with his unit. He was treated and released.

Ecru Police Department is leading the ongoing investigation and have charged Sisco with several misdemeanor charges and felony fleeing. Sisco is awaiting a bond hearing because he was out on bond for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He remains in the Pontotoc County Jail.

Several agencies including Union SO, New Albany Police Department, the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Pontotoc Police Department assisted Ecru Police Department in stopping the fleeing felon.
