Theater Competition Kicks Off at MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The brightest young stars of Mississippi will shine this weekend on the campus of MUW.

High school students will compete at the annual competition for the state title.  The Mississippi Theatre Association sponsors the weekend, this year at Whitfield Auditorium.

High school and community theater actors will perform Friday (1/18) and Saturday (1/19). There are workshops and college auditions.

Celebrity makeup artist Billy Brassfield is the special guest speaker .

The winners will move to the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Louisville, Kentucky for a shot at the national title.
