Update: They Say They Stole an ATM

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lee County authorities apprehend a wanted man shortly after we ran his picture on WCBI.

51 year old John Newell was taken into custody in northern Lee County Monday (1/29) night.

His alleged partner in crime, 51 year-old Jeffery Lesley of Mooreville was already being held on a $150,000 bond.

The pair are allegedly responsible for the burglary of yard barns last Friday and the burglary of Pizza Inn Express 2 weeks before that.

That’s where, authorities think, the pair hooked an ATM up to a Ford Ranger and tried to drag it off. It didn’t work.

Both suspects are being held at the Lee County jail.

 

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-Lee County authorities apprehended their second suspect shortly after the airing of crime stoppers Monday (1-28-13)  night.

51 year-old John Newell was found in northern Lee County by authorities and taken into custody.

51 year-old Jeffery Lesley of Mooreville had already been taken into custody and was being held at a $150,000 dollar bond.

The pair are allegedly responsible the burglary of Yard Barns last Friday and the burglary of Pizza Inn Express where they allegedly took an ATM.

Both men are being held at the Lee County Jail.

Newell’s bond is set for later.
